beIN Sport USA: New Home of La Liga, Ligue 1 & Serie A
As previously mentioned, the scope of international soccer broadcasts will change significantly for US viewers. BeIN Sport USA will be the sole network for three major leagues, broadcasting on two channels beginning August 1. A public announcement naming which service providers will broadcast the new network has yet to be made. At the moment beIN Sport is asking people to contact their providers to request that the network be made available in their area.
I compiled a list of some of the major US television providers. Inquiries should be made to them.
- AT&T U-verse - 1-800-288-2020
- Cablevision/Optimum - phone list
- Charter - 1-888-438-2427
- Comcast - 1-800-934-6489
- DirecTV - 1-800-531-5000
- Dish Network - 1-888-284-7116
- Mediacom - 1-855-633-4226
- Suddenlink - 1-877-694-9474
- Time Warner - 1-866-744-1678
- Verizon FIOS - 1-888-553-1555
While there is currently no official site, the network has launched two Twitter accounts, @beINSport1USA & @beINSport2USA (verified by Phil Schoen, formerly of GolTV). As it stands there are no plans to sublicense distribution rights to networks like ESPN (and ESPN3). However, BeIN Sport will eventually offer online streaming for all of the matches the network covers. Stay tuned for more details.
