On the same day Real Madrid open their Copa del Rey semifinal against Sevilla, José Mourinho is celebrating his 48th birthday. The 2010 FIFA Coach of the Year would like nothing more than a win in tonight’s man to continue adding to one of the best season’s Real Madrid has ever had, having won 25 matches, drawn five and lost only two in the 32 matches played.

Mourinho was born on 26 January 1963 in Setubal, Portugal. No one could have imagined then that he would go on to become one of the most successful coaches of all time with two Champions League titles and numerous league and Cup titles already to his name.

Most recently, and in lttle under a month, Mourinho was named Best Club Coach of the Year by IFFHS, and honor he had already received in both 2004 and 2005, the 2010 FIFA Coach of the Year and UEFA.com’s Coach of the Year.

On the day of his birthday, we wish Mourinho continued success with Real Madrid, where he arrived on 28 May 2010 and has needed only half a season to put up already astonishing numbers.
